RSD™ SRV (server) — FAQ

Rally telemetry & race management

Back to RSD™ SRV (server)

Product & features

What does the RSD™ SRV server actually do?

It's the team's command centre. It receives the live WebRTC peer-to-peer feed from the RSD™ DTL phone(s) in the car, decodes and renders the telemetry, road-snaps the car onto an offline map, times the stage, and records everything for replay — on one screen.

Which cars and ECUs does it work with?

Whatever RSD™ DTL reads in the car: standard OBD-II (through a Bluetooth adapter) and MaxxECU are supported today, forwarded over the live link and synchronised on the server. Because the data source is a phone, you're not tied to one vendor's logger.

Do I need proprietary hardware or a dedicated logger?

No. The in-car data source is a phone running RSD™ DTL — no bolt-in logger, no wiring loom. The server is a normal Windows desktop application. That's the core difference from closed systems like MoTeC or AiM, which lock you to their own hardware.

How do stage and split times work when rally has no closed laps?

The server places arbitrary GPS split points along the stage, so you can see exactly where time was won or lost across any corner combination — comparing runs, tyre choices or drivers — without needing a circuit lap.

Can I compare two runs and see where I lost time?

Yes. Every stage is recorded and fully scrubbable. You can replay any parameter — throttle, brake, speed, RPM, motion — unlimited times and line runs up against each other on the split map.

Can I see the onboard video together with the data?

Yes. Live and recorded onboard video is aligned to the telemetry timeline, so clicking a braking point or a slide on the graph jumps the video to that exact moment.

Can the whole team see the car live during the stage?

Yes. The service crew and engineers see the same live picture as the director, and the live screen can be broadcast to the team, media and spectators.

How is it different from MoTeC, AiM or VBOX?

Those are excellent but closed: you buy their (expensive) loggers and displays, and live telemetry to the pits is costly to run. RSD™ is hardware-independent, streams live over ordinary 4G/LTE, and — because it's built by an engineering lab — can be extended to your car with direct support rather than an English-only forum.

Customer support

What support do I get, and in what language?

You get direct engineering support from iDSLab (Industrial Datalog Systems Kft.), not just a ticket queue — including help with setup and tuning for your car. Reach us through the website contact form or your in-account Messages. The software is in English; support can be provided in Hungarian for local teams.

Can you add a custom sensor, channel or feature for my team?

Yes — that's the point of an engineering-lab product. Custom sensors, calculated channels or team-specific features can be developed and integrated directly. Describe what you need on our Custom software page or via contact, and we'll scope it.

Payment, terms & refunds

How do I order RSD™ SRV?

Create an account on this website, then buy the RSD™ SRV licence from your account — a one-time unlimited licence or a monthly subscription. RSD™ DTL, the in-car phone app, is a separate licence. Once a purchase is processed, an admin assigns the product to your account and you download the install file. For a pilot or a team roll-out, contact us and we'll set it up with you.

What if I'm not satisfied?

If you were misled by the product description, or the software doesn't satisfy you for a reason you couldn't reasonably have known before buying, you can claim a refund of 70% of the price you paid. iDSLab investigates and discusses the claim with you, and you provide the relevant evidence. See our refund policy for the full process.
